Sell My Home

Have you said to yourself recently, I want to sell my home? Frustrated in this slow market with the lack of potential buyers? Then this is the article for you! There may be a good reason for this lack of interest, aside from the obvious factors of price, location and presentation. Throughout this article we will discuss them!

Many people I have talked to say they want to sell my home myself. This is also known in the circle as selling a home FSBO. They are frightened by this prospect, but the fact is that choosing to do this can save a person literally thousands of dollars AND sell their home faster than done with a real estate agent or MLS listing service.

First, it is estimated that 2 out of every 3 people sell their home through realtors or MLS services, but that number is quickly dwindling. With the invention of the internet gracing just about every home in America with its presence, the largest field of potential buyers is sitting right at your own fingertips. In fact, after discussing this with several realtors, they often use websites like Central Florida For Sale By Owner to sell homes that they cannot! They collect their 6%+ commission, and pay to list the home for a small price. All the while, the home owner could have already posted the listing themselves for a fraction of the cost.

This is evident in when browsing through places like Craigslist where the vast majority of home postings are done by brokers. It seems lunacy to pay someone thousands of dollars to do what a home owner could do in a matter of minutes by themselves.

The MLS service is even LESS realistic with today's resources than a realtor. Your home is listed for hundreds of dollars, only so a broker can find you, as well as a potential buyer, and once again charge you the large commission fee for the work that you could have done yourself if you had listed FSBO in the first place! There are websites all over the country, including Central Florida where a person can sell a home for a small fee, have it sold quickly, and if it isn't, have it listed until sold.
